In a context of finances at half mast and faced with the multiplication of Obligations to leave French territory, house arrests and threats of expulsion, the Jamais Sans Toit association is launching a cry of alarm.
The Jamais sans roof Aveyron association currently supports 26 families in Aveyron with around fifty children, most of them very young. She is now forced to “launch an exceptional appeal”: “The current trend is towards the multiplication of Obligations to leave French territory, house arrests and threats of expulsion”, explain the representatives of Jamais sans roof.
Two families currently on the street
“The families welcomed are all housed in accommodation rented by the association. With 20 dependent families, we were reaching a balance but due to the fact that there has been no regularization for two years, it is becoming difficult and we We currently have two families on the street”, explains the secretary of Jamais sans roof. “We already have a lot of trouble finding accommodation when we have money… and here, we have no money,” he continues.
The situation is serious as “more and more families whose asylum requests are rejected are finding themselves without housing, without any rights”.
Need for volunteers and financial revenue
Faced with an increase in its activity and a generalized tightening of regularization conditions, Jamais sans roof appeals to the generosity of the Aveyron residents, after having been forced to refuse the reception of several families in recent weeks.
“We urgently need apartments to rent (if possible at a lower cost), volunteers to support families, manage relations between them and social services, relations between educational teams and parents… We also need and especially financial revenue to cover all these expenses,” explains the association.
