In terms of departures, we know that Valentin Brouck, the coach of AS Cesson Saint-Brieuc, was not spared. Robin Hutrel left in February, heading to Chalon-sur-Saône. The Brazilian point guard Fabio didn’t finish the season either. He joined the Brazilian women’s selection as a manager, qualified for the Olympics. Same thing for Lucas Nobilo, the second passer, who will now coach at Pôle Espoir de Bordeaux. The Brazilian Josimar also returned to the country, this time for family reasons.

In total, that makes seven departures. A profound upheaval that is not easy to comprehend. But Arnaud Pellan, the president, sees it as an opportunity to start “a new cycle”.

A Brazilian central, a Wallisian sharp

This is how no less than five recruits will arrive. The Brazilian accent will be embodied by the central Mauricio Bezner (31 years old, 1.98 m) who knows France well having played in Mâcon and Caudry. “He’s one of the best centrals in the championship, with great reading quality in the block,” explains Valentin Brouck. Another center to arrive, Léo Glowacz (25 years old, 1.95 m), from Épinal. “The physique of a mover and a warrior,” says the Cessonnais coach.

In Calais for three years where he covered several positions, Loïc Manuohalalo (22 years old, 1.95 m) comes to occupy the pointy position. He is the cousin of the smuggler Anthony Totelé who obviously worked on this recruitment. “He’s a beautiful baby, with a great hand and great control of the ball,” explains Valentin Brouck about the Wallisian.

At the receiver-attacker position, a former Argentinian U19 and U21 international will arrive: Lucas Ibazeta (22 years old, 1.87 m), “a very explosive and complete player”. The person concerned arrives from the Cypriot club Nea Salamina Famaguste. A fourth reinforcement which will soon be followed by a fifth, the club still looking for a versatile player, in order to broaden Valentin Brouck’s choices.
