Hernan Losada is the new coach of Deinze. Can he do better than this season?

It had been more than six months sinceHernan Losada was without a club since the end of his adventure with Impact Montreal. In recent weeks, his name has been mentioned in several D1B clubs, notably Lierse, where he played for two years.

But it’s good Deinze who made his arrival official this afternoon: “Hernan is a young coach with the passion, knowledge and energy necessary to be part of this project. After several conversations with different profiles, we are convinced that Hernán is the right candidate to make history with this team” says sports director Adrián Espárraga.

Hernan Losada must help Deinze continue to grow

For his part, Losada explains: “I was waiting for the right moment to return to Belgium. After numerous discussions with the club, I am convinced that this is the perfect project for me. The progress made by the club is impressive, it “Now it’s up to me to build on that and make further improvements.”

This season, Deinze rose to third place in the Challenger Pro League and was very close to challenging Kortrijk for a double qualifying confrontation for the D1A. But Lommel ended up having the last word in the Promotion Playoff final, losing to the Kerels a few days later.

Hernan Losada is therefore returning to Belgium, he who had left the Beerschot to join DC United in MLS more than three years ago. He signed a two-year contract at Deinze.
