Less than two months before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the installation of various temporary sites continues, affecting traffic.

With just 44 days until the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, work to accommodate the events and the public has resumed, which has led to the closure of various roads. The organization of the Olympic Games allows Parisian and Ile-de-France motorists to anticipate their trips, consult real-time guidance applications and largely avoid the center of Paris.

Anticipate their movements

Hotspots such as the Alexandre III Bridge and Avenue Gallieni have been closed to traffic since May 17. The Trocadéro Champ de Mars sector, Avenue des Nations-Unies and Place de Varsovie are no longer accessible to vehicles or pedestrians. Place de la Concorde is completely closed, and in the Invalides sector, the Bleuets de France roundabout is impassable. In all, more than fifty streets are closed in Paris.

Le Parisien offers an update on traffic every morning, using real-time applications such as Google Traffic. This Wednesday, June 12 at 7:45 a.m., the ring road will be damaged between Porte de la Chapelle and Quai de Bercy. There are also many traffic jams at the Porte de Saint-Cloud. Access to the North and East stations is complicated, because traffic is heavy around Place de la République and Boulevard Saint-Martin. The Quai de Bercy and the Quai Saint-Bernard seem to have traffic jams, and the Georges-Pompidou route is starting to get congested under the Trocadéro.

At 7:45 a.m., the Sytadin site of the Île-de-France Roads Department (Dirif) reported 197 kilometers of traffic jams, a situation which is usual in the Paris region.
