Marseille: the vote on projects imagined by residents in the participatory budget postponed until the start of the school year

You will have to be patient to discover the projects that were selected from the 900 ideas put forward last winter by Marseillais residents of the 2nd, 3rd, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th arrondissements. Due to the organization of the legislative elections, the voting phase which was to take place from June 15 to September 22 has been postponed until the next school year.

A unique initiative in Marseille, the participatory budget was launched at the end of November, inviting residents (from 6 years old) or workers from the six districts in the north of the city to make their contributions to develop a participatory budget. Proposals were recorded online or during workshops until January 31.

With a total budget of 1.5 million euros (150,000 € maximum per project), this system is expected, according to the town hall, to be deployed throughout the city in 2025 and 2026. The services of the City of Marseille studied the feasibility of the ideas in the spring with regard to technical criteria and quantified their implementation. City stadium, mobile library, solidarity fridges… these ideas then became concrete and achievable projects and it is these projects which will be submitted to the vote of the general public at the start of the school year.

From September 1 to October 25, it will be possible to vote, sector by sector, for your five favorite projects. The winners will be the projects that receive the most votes, and will be chosen between October 25 and November 22. The final phase will then begin, that of carrying out the projects, which will be delivered before fall 2026.

To discover the projects submitted to the vote and choose your favorites, go from September 1 to participons.marseille.fr

It is on this same platform that it will be possible to follow the progress of the work of the selected projects.
