A Quebec Superior Court judge has ordered the seizure of two Montreal-area residences belonging to billionaire Robert Miller, at the request of four women who filed civil suits alleging he sexually abused them while They were minors.

Judge Serge Gaudet on Friday authorized the request for pre-judgment seizure of the two Westmount properties, saying the plaintiffs have reason to fear that the 81-year-old founder of Future Electronics is trying to hide assets.

Judge Gaudet declared that it was disturbing to learn that the billionaire did not have a single bank account in his name and that he had listed assets under other people’s names.

The four women are each seeking millions of dollars from Robert Miller, alleging they were recruited while in high school to have sex with him in exchange for money and gifts in of what they say is a network of sexual abuse of girls and young women.

Robert Miller was arrested in May on 21 sex-related charges involving 10 female complainants, including several minors, and is also the subject of a separate class-action lawsuit alleging he gave money and gifts to dozens of minors in exchange for sexual relations between 1996 and 2006.

The billionaire has denied the allegations, none of which have been proven in court.
