This Wednesday July 3, 2024, the Olympic flame of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will cross the Pas-de-Calais to finish his way Lens, on Place Jean-Jaurès. The last bearer will be a legend of RC Lens and even goes light the cauldron ! We tell you more.

Eric Sikora torch bearer in Lens this Wednesday

The announcement was made this Wednesday on the social networks of the Department of Pas-de-Calais. On July 3, Eric Sikora will be the last bearer of the Olympic flame and will light the cauldron located in the city center.

As a reminder, Eric Sikora competed 580 matches under the blood and gold colors and won the club’s two major titles: Ligue 1 in 1998 and the League Cup in 1999.

He also coached the RCL from 2012 to 2013 and from 2017 to 2018. Another figure from the Artesian club will carry the flame this Wednesday, it is Joseph Oughourlianpresident of Racing.

Finally, let’s remember that it is Dany Boon who will light the cauldron in Lille the day before.
