Dordogne farmers hang dead wild boars in front of an administration and the hunting federation

Around twenty tractors left the gathering organized in Périgueux (Dordogne), by the Rural Coordination union on the Allées Tourny this Tuesday evening. Around fifty farmers went to several places that they consider strategic and representative of their mobilization which resumes less than a year after the convoy to Rungis last January.

A bailiff comes to check the damage

The farmers first went to the Departmental Directorate of Territories, at the Administrative City in Périgueux. They spread slurry and hung boar skins on the administration grids to denounce standards and controls. But they didn't put tires or straw on the road, to “do not penalize citizens”.

Then, the farmers from Rural Coordination went to the Leclerc supermarket in Trélissac where they dumped eight dumpsters of tires to block the supply from the store this Wednesday morning. Rural Coordination warned that without a response from the state to agricultural unrest, they would attack “food freight” to show “what a country without farmers is like”. The Leclerc store in Trélissac mandated a bailiff to observe the damage.

Dead wild boars hanging from the hunting federation

The procession of farmers crossed the town to reach the early evening headquarters of the Hunting Federation in Marsac. They are in conflict with the federation over the management of wild boars which proliferate in the department and cause extensive damage to crops. CR members also spread slurry and installed boar heads on the site’s gates.

A regional demonstration in Brive this Wednesday

The farmers then joined the Auchan store in Marsac-sur-l'Islewhere they also dumped their skips in order to block the supply to the loading docks.

The mobilized farmers have planned to spend the night, some of them, on the Allées Tourny before joining Brive (Corrèze) for a regional demonstration this Wednesday, November 20. The president of the CR at the national level, Véronique Le Floch' indicated on France Bleu Poitou that the movement “was going to last”.
