According to Radek Sikorski, the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, who chaired the meeting in Warsaw, this would make it possible to “counter the imperial ambitions” of Russia.

Six European countries have given their support to a proposal for joint defense bonds aimed at supporting the European Union's defense industry.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his German, Italian and French counterparts, Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski called the development a “big deal”.
Senior Spanish and British diplomats also took part in an earlier meeting via video link, which was followed by a joint statement from all nations present.
Mr. Sikorski added that the development would help “Europe firmly counter Russia's imperial ambitions.”
Mr Sikorski, who hosted the meeting in Warsaw, said on Tuesday that “we agreed that Europe must take greater responsibility for its own security, which implies a more balanced sharing of the burden among members of the NATO.”
« Putin's Russia will remain one of the gravest security threats, not only to Europe, but also to the world order. Its objective remains the permanent destruction of the European security architecture,” he warned.
Foreign ministers discussed strengthening Europe's military support for Ukraine as well as ties with the United States under the incoming presidency of Donald Trump, who has repeatedly said he expects Europe that it makes more efforts to defend itself in the face of Russia's war against Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a revised nuclear doctrine which states that a conventional attack on Russia by any country backed by a nuclear power will be considered a joint attack on the country.
Putin's decision follows US President Joe Biden's decision toallow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with long-range missiles supplied by the United States.
The Russian Defense Ministry says that Kyiv has already launched US-supplied ATACMS missiles into Russian territory for the first time.
