The Christmases want (again) to gain momentum

We are only a few days away from the magic of Christmas in . In 8 municipalities in the department, the excitement is already there. We have to prepare for an event like Noëls de Moselle. While people flocked to the space provided for the sale of Christmas baubles, it was in another room of the Meisenthal glass center that the president of the Department Patrick Weiten detailed the broad outlines of the next edition of the Moselle Christmases . For the latter, Noëls de Moselle is above all a story of union. From the largest city to the rest of the territory. Also, this year again, Christmas markets will be everywhere in Moselle: in of course, but also in Sierck-les-Bains, Hombourg-Haut, Sarrebourg, … “Each of these markets has a theme, a important work has been carried out by these municipalities so that each market is authentic.” Medieval atmosphere in Sierck-les-Bains, musical in Hombourg-Haut, magical in Sarrebourg with the magical forest… Make your choice!

53 local producers at the MOSL Quality chalet

In Metz, you will of course have to count on the Sentier des Lanternes, which this year benefits from new lighting. On the ice floe, a laser will give the illusion of seeing the Northern Lights. “The Lantern Trail involves 2,000 lanterns that must be installed on site, the tallest of which is that of the station, and the longest, that of Santa's train.” The magic of the Sentiers des Lanternes begins this Friday, November 23 from 7:30 p.m.

Christmas in Moselle is also an opportunity for many visitors, whether local or from elsewhere, to discover the know-how of local artisans. For this, there is the Quality MOSL chalet, located on the Place de la République, in Metz. There will be lots of people in this 150 m2 chalet: “We will have 53 exhibitors present this year,” announces the president of the Department, Patrick Weiten. Among them, we have 18 new producers. Last year, 250,000 visitors came to the Quality MOSL chalet. I have no doubt that there should be more visitors again this year.” A beautiful showcase for these artisans and for Noëls de Moselle where, recalls Patrick Weiten, “40% of the exhibitors are from Moselle”.

New in Meisenthal and Sainte- Park

At the Glass Hall in Meisenthal, it is time for final preparations for the Merveilleux studio teams. The Messins have been working for three months on the writing and design of the Halle aux Lumières, the show which will be offered from November 22 to December 29. What is hidden behind this novelty in Bitche country? A digital journey, an animated film lasting 25 minutes, where mapping, virtual reality and sound installations all have their place. “We are putting together a story, which will be broadcast on the various media in the Hall,” describes David Suck, vice-president of the Departmental Council and president of the community of communes of Pays de Bitche. The idea is to tell a story recalling the historic glassmaking past of the area by using all the elements that remain under the Hall.”

Finally, the Department of Moselle will be able to count on new partnerships, such as that of the Sainte-Croix animal park, which this year will offer a winter opening for the first time, accompanied by a route based on light. “It’s a show centered on and respectful of nature,” underlines the site director, Laurent Singer. He talks about global warming, but bringing optimism and joy.” A new partnership in addition to that with the Amnéville zoo, which has been offering Luminescences since October 19. Something to dream about, wherever you are, in Moselle.
