Will there be snow well before Christmas in Seine-Maritime at the end of 2024?
“A priori the snow episode would be confirmed,” indicates Kévin Baudribos, the weather specialist managing the various “Météo Haute-Normandie 2776” pages on social networks. A depression will deepen over the North Atlantic and arrive in France via Brittany during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, before crossing the country from West to East. In former Upper Normandy this should rather concern Eure, but scattered snow showers could also fall on Seine-Maritime on Friday. »
The enthusiast specifies: “The snow could remain on the ground, given the expected cold. But be careful, of course, all this could still change, and not all models agree yet. »
“A major air mass conflict”
Creator of Météovilles, Guillaume Séchet specifies on X (ex-Twitter): “Thursday November 21, 2024, a major air mass conflict will occur over France. You should expect differences of 10°C in less than 100 km! It is to the immediate north of this conflict zone that #snow will be present. »
Météo France forecasts
As for Météo France, we estimate: “The cold gets worse on Thursday in the north. We should observe frequent small frosts under cover. […] The regions going from Lower Normandy, to the Pays de la Loire, via the Center and Burgundy to Franche-Comté currently seem the most privileged to observe a small layer of snow on the ground. Uncertainty is still present over the extension of the snow episode towards regions further north of this axis (Brittany, Île-de-France, Alsace-Lorraine). »
