Construction of the new bridge which will span the A709 motorway, on the road from Vauguières to Montpellier, continues this month of June. This new structure will allow the tramway to pass between Odysseum and Montpellier Sud-de-France station. The construction of this bridge continues, requiring the closure of the A709 during the night of June 27 to 28, 2024.
Work on the bridge which will span the A709 motorway, at the road from Vauguières to Montpellier, continues this month of June. This new structure will allow the passage of the tramway between Odysseum and Montpellier Sud-de-France station as part of the extension of line 1 of the tramway.
To complete the finishing touches to this work, new work is planned for the night of June 27 to 28. Work that will result in the closure of the A709 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. between the Montpellier Sud interchange (no. 30) and the Montpellier Est interchange (no. 29) in both directions of traffic.
During the night of Thursday June 27 to Friday June 28, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., VINCI Autoroute announces the closure of the A709 between the Montpellier Sud interchange (n°30) and the Montpellier Est interchange (n°29) in both directions of traffic.

Diversions will be put in place:
- In the Béziers/Nîmes direction.
Motorists will have to take the Montpellier south interchange (n° 30 and follow the RD 66 towards Palavas-Les-Flots, then the RD 62 E2, the RD 62 before taking the RD 21 towards Montpellier to reach the ‘A 709 at the Montpellier Est interchange (n° 29):
- In the direction Nîmes/Béziers
Motorists will have to exit at the East interchange (n° 29) and follow the following diversion route: take the RD 66 and 21 then the RD 62 and RD 62 E2 towards Palavas-Les-Flots and continue on the RD 986 to take the A 709 at the Montpellier south interchange (n°30)
