As temperatures seriously rise,‘association Sakado is relaunching its “Iso-gourdes” operation for the third consecutive year. This involves collect insulated bottles to redistribute them to people living on the streets in Montpellier, Frontignan, Sète and Béziers.

“It’s as difficult to live on the street in summer because of the heatwave as it can be in winter because of the cold” observes Thierry Teulade, co-founder of Sakado. “These bottles allow those who live on the street to have fresh water and therefore lower their body temperature“.

Lower body temperature with cool water

Sakado therefore asks the people of Hérault to return one or more insulated bottles to one of the Maisons des services de services de ADMR, “there are around forty in the department” specifies Thierry Teulade, and the rest is even simpler according to him. “The Sakado volunteers will tour the Service Centers and then we will distribute them to those who need them”during the first half of July at the Solidarity Stopquai du Verdanson, in Montpellier.

Last summer, 500 insulated bottles were distributed in Montpellier. In winter, the association distributes 40 or 50 liter backpacks, containing four kits of everyday and practical objects: 1 heat kit, 1 hygiene kit, 1 festive kit and 1 culture-communication kit
