In Bitche, in Moselle, the construction site for an urban heating network (RCU) was inaugurated. The work was entrusted to a group of companies, including the NGE group.
The first stone of a vast project was laid in Bitche (Moselle). The objective: to design, build and commission a district heating network (RCU). This system will be associated with a 4.8 MW wood boiler room and a 10 MW gas backup/backupwith hydraulic and electrical installations on the outskirts.
« The biomass boiler room will be powered by wood waste located between 800 m and 35 km around Bitche, the renewable energy rate will be 85 % », explains Jérémie Wagner, director of the Bitche management team, project owner on this site. All for an energy production capacity of up to 26 million KWh per yearcompared to 7,000 tonnes of CO2 production avoided per year.
6 months of study and 14 months of work
The 12 kilometers of network should supply the military quarters of Driant and the Bâti camp, which will concentrate 40% of the network's total consumption. They will also cover an industrial zone, eight schools, the town hall, the church, a retirement home, a hospital, a swimming pool and collective housing.
6 months of study and 14 months of work are planned to create this urban heat network, followed by two years dedicated to “ the operation and maintenance of all equipment after its commissioning, as well as the training of management staff ».
The site was entrusted to a group of companies. Among them, we find two subsidiaries of the NGE group: NGE GC, specialized in civil engineering and all biomass boiler trades, and Pontiggia, expert in the urban heat network. These will partner with EIM for the thermal and electrical process work, Grebille for the roads and various networks, the ELCIMAI design office as well as Schmid Energy solutions to supply the boilers. The Menthe design office will participate as project management assistant.
In total, 80 employees will work on this RCU, for which 21.7 million euros will be invested concomitantly by Ademe of the Grand Est region.
