Of the Renault Modus, all that remains is the passenger compartment, completely stripped of its interior. Its driver, a 42-year-old woman living in Ars-sur-Moselle, did not survive her injuries.
Around 10 a.m. this Tuesday a violent collision occurred on departmental road 135 at the exit of Saint-Ail, a town located in the Pays de Briey. The small city car collided with a van traveling in the opposite direction. The events took place at an intersection and for the moment, the circumstances remain unclear. An investigation was opened by the Conflans-en-Jarnisy police officers. The shock, of rare violence, threw the car into the lower part of the road, before it crashed against a post.
The SAMU 54 helicopter as reinforcement
When help arrived, the motorist, unconscious and seriously injured, was trapped in the sheet metal. The driver of the utility vehicle was in shock and slightly injured. He was immediately transferred to the Briey hospital center. The forty-year-old, after being extricated, was taken care of by the local SMUR teams who provided her with first aid and above all tried to stabilize her. But her condition quickly deteriorated and the SAMU 54 helicopter was required to transfer this mother to Nancy central hospital. Twelve minutes later, the aircraft landed near the accident. For many minutes, in the fire brigade ambulance, the emergency services struggled to try to save the victim. Around noon, unfortunately, the resident of Ars-sur-Moselle succumbed to her injuries.
These rescue operations, which mobilized more than fifteen firefighters from Val de l'Orne, Jarny, Briey and Moyeuvre, under the orders of Lieutenant Wattelet, required the stopping of traffic on this road linking the Moselle in the Briey sector. The Ars-sur-Moselle gendarmes have set up a diversion. On the other side, in Saint-Ail, their police colleagues secured the scene and closed this section of the departmental road to traffic.
