XALIMANEWS-Selon le Soleil Digitalthe association for the protection of human rights (APDH) expressed its deep concern following the provisional release of Nabou Leye, one of the people implicated in the case of the double murder of Aziz Dabala, and the young Boubacar Gano, aka Waly. The dancer had been placed under arrest for complicity in this affair which shook public opinion.
In a press release made public this Sunday, the Apdh “seeks clarification from the prosecution which had placed him under arrest for complicity in the charges.” The association questions in particular the fact that this release would have occurred without any procedural action having been taken since the start of the investigation.
According to the victims’ lawyer, “this provisional release took place without any procedural action taken since the start of the investigation”.
According to the national media, despite the confidential nature of the investigation, as provided for by article 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Apdh considers that “the right to information as a universal right and the organization of press briefings and reconstructions of the facts in certain criminal cases, gives this provision a supplementary character”.
These practices create, according to the association, a legitimate expectation of transparency on the part of the Senegalese population.
