After a quick start, the Grand Prix came alive as the laps went by, under pressure from three riders, Matthieu Jeannès (CC Jeannès), Maxime Rio (Briec) and Alexandre Laurent (UC Briochine). The trio was caught 40 km from the finish, which made the end of the race uncertain.

Eight laps from the finish, three Costarmoricans, Malo Stévant, Quentin Le Songeur and Alexandre Laurent, took off and quickly gained a 1’15” lead over the first part of the peloton. This breakaway was the right one and Vannetais Malo Stévant, who was racing under the colors of VC Pays de Loudéac, looking for a road victory since his title of champion of Morbihan junior in 2020, launched the sprint from afar and won in strong.

“This victory does me a world of good. During the breakaway there was very good collaboration with my two teammates. I felt strong in the sprint, which was confirmed,” rejoiced Malo Stévant, also the reigning Brittany Espoir champion, after his victory.
