“Obviously by crisscrossing the north of the Lot as I was able to do, we quickly identify the restaurants where it is good to stop for lunch », declares Alain Vauzou.

Commercial in matters of selling clothes at home

for 31 years, in the northern part of the Lot department, he had lunch every lunchtime at the restaurant, which allowed him to find the best restaurants, value for money.

“Places where I have enjoyed returning often”

“I took into account the welcome given to customers, the quality of the food and the very affordable prices, i.e. €16 on average for the daily menu served at lunchtime,” explains Alain Vauzou. These eight restaurants are establishments where Alain Vauzou indicates he has enjoyed returning often. And he adds that these restaurants are mostly located in charming towns where you can extend your stay by strolling and relaxing, in particular by visiting the village and its monuments. The list of restaurants below is based on a random ranking:

– “The hall restaurant” in Fons,

– “The forge inn” in Terrou,

– “The laughing duck” in Prudhomat,

– “L’auberge des tilleuls” in Souillac,

– “The old castle inn” in Milhac,

– “L’auberge beauville” in Espédaillac,

– “Faden’s table” in Saint-Michel-de-Bannières,

– “L’Entre-Pots” in Saint-Céré, run by a former French cycling champion…

“I realized that most of these restaurants are owned by those who work there and whose great involvement I have seen in the smooth running of their business; charming people, passionate about their profession,” notes Alain Vauzou. Another observation of this gourmet is that all these places are located in an environment of beautiful and old stones and in most cases, there is a proximity to the passage of a watercourse; here the Bave, further away the Dordogne, or even the Mamoul or La Relinquière…

Evoking all these places and also his loyal customers whom he never ceases to thank, Alain Vauzou, now retired, remembers good times and great encounters.
