Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel bridge: complete closure tonight

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel bridge will be completely closed, in both directions, from 9 p.m. Wednesday until early Thursday morning.

This is the second complete nighttime closure of Highway 25 in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, this week.

These obstacles are necessary in order to carry out maintenance work such as marking the ground and repairing the roadway, but also the movement of “giant tools” used for the work in progress in the tunnel, explained Gilles Payer, spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport (MTQ), in an interview with Québec Matin, specifying that these closures are carried out at night “where it is the least disturbing”.

Concretely, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel bridge will be closed, from 9 p.m., in both directions, until 5 a.m. Thursday. Access to the tunnel bridge will be closed 30 minutes before, i.e. at 8:30 p.m.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER :

In the South direction:

– Complete closure of Highway 25 towards the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel);
