Usam Nîmes entrusts its catering and refreshment bar to starred chef Jérome Nutile

Sportingly on vacation, the Nîmes club announced that its collaboration with Nîmes star chef Jérome Nutile would evolve. We’re going to eat Nutile at Parnasse next season. A first in France.

It was in the gardens of his famous Bistr’AU that starred chef Jérome Nutile announced, with president David Tebib, that his collaboration with the USAM Nîmes Gard club would evolve. A few days ago, David Tebib called Jérome Nutile to ask him to become the first starred chef to take care of all the food at Parnasse on his team’s match nights.

For the Nîmes president, “USAM is the desire to give meaning to things. We want a real communion with the supporters, with the VIPs and we want to have a show on the field but also to have entertainment around the field with a very important anchoring of the territory. This is why we recently signed a partnership with the Mas des Agriculteurs. It was important for the club to evoke dietetics, healthy eating and local products. For this, we want to create an event. It is in this context that Jérome Nutile’s brigades will take care of the refreshment bar and the VIP of the Parnasse“.

However, if the famous Nîmes chef, who found the idea totally crazy when David Tebib called him, accepted this mission, he still thought about it before responding in the affirmative. “I had some time to think, declared Jérome Nutile, because making 500 place settings is easy but doing it well is more difficult“. The time for reflection has passed, he therefore accepted this great challenge out of love for this club that he loves so much, even if he will have to resolve to close his gastro restaurant on match evenings. The chef wants his teams works with local products in order to create a sharing cuisine. He wants to work with products because, as he says himself, he doesn’t know how to work with anything else.

For the refreshment bar, Jérome Nutile wants to keep a popular side but he especially wants to provide a service, invest the stands, go to the people and offer an American concept. Rather, the Franco-American one. Amélie Gibon, the club’s sales director, was pleased that the partnership with Jérome Nutile, which has lasted for more than ten years, continues and evolves. Hospitality, tickets on match nights, subscriptions, VIP and the shop represent more than 50% of the club’s turnover and strengthening the partnership with a name like that of chef Nutile can only be a good thing.

When we know Jérome Nutile’s love for Nîmes sport and its teams and a little more for this USAM that he came to see anonymously a dozen years ago before the start of a partnership which, in particular, brought the Green team to make all their pre-match snacks at the lower path of the Mas de Boudan, there is nothing surprising to see this collaboration evolve in this direction.
