In parallel with the disappointing draw of the French team against Poland (1-1), Austria made an excellent operation in winning against the Netherlands (3-2), at the end of a match rich in goals and particularly spectacular. Enough to allow the Austrians to overtake everyone on the finish line and overturn the less dense half of the table.

Austria beats everyone to the post!

As against Poland, it was from the sidelines that Kevin Danso started the match between Austria and the Netherlands (3-2), Tuesday afternoon in Berlin. Except that this time, the RC Lens defender did not even come into play during a particularly lively match. After an own goal from Donyell Mallen (1-0, 6′), the Netherlands came back to the level at the very start of the second half through Cody Gakpo (1-1, 47′), the striker from Liverpool.

A short-lived parity score as Romano Schmid restored Austria’s advantage barely ten minutes later (2-1, 59′). Quite discreet since the start of the Euro, Memphis Depay put the two teams back on level terms at the start of the last quarter of an hour (2-2, 75′). Except that Austria did not stop there with a third goal of Marcel Sabitzer (3-2), synonymous with victory and first place in group D.

So, Austria will face the second of group F, namely Turkey, the Czech Republic or Georgia. A match which will take place next Tuesday in Leipzig (9 p.m.). The question now is whether Kevin Danso will be revived after being a substitute in two of the three matches in the group stage.
