The Greater Avignon carried out development work in Saint-Saturnin-lès-Avignonon theavenue André-Durand and the Reed Road. These two operations are part of the road development work programs of community interest of the agglomeration, the development of bicycle circuits in line with the general plan supported by the municipality and the improvement of the functioning of the rainwater network.
Avenue André-Durand was thus the subject of a rehabilitation of its rainwater networks, with the creation of a draining network of 300 to 500 mm in diameter over 210 linear meters and 10 grids at collection points under gutters. This new system allows faster drainage of rainwater and thus avoids stagnant water on the roadway.
A plateau – an elevation of the roadway with the aim of slowing down the speed of vehicles and facilitating pedestrian crossings – and parking spaces marked on the ground have been created. New signage completed the work.
“chaucidou” type itineraries created
On the mobility side, a “chaucidou” type cycle route (contraction of the roadway for gentle traffic) was carried out over the entire avenue (over a length of approximately 460 linear meters), with requalification of the track over a third of the length and resurfacing over the remaining two thirds . We also note the planting nine trees.
The work represented a cost of 211 200 € : €59,800 for the storm water network and €151,400 for the road network.
As for the Chemin des Roseaux, it was redeveloped to improve user safety. And “chaucidou” type route was thus created over the entire path (approximately 365 linear meters) and thetrack has been completely reclassified. The coatings were reused in their entirety. A speed bump was put in place, accompanied by new horizontal signage. Finally, a curb was also installed along the entire path to protect pedestrians from vehicle traffic.
The cost of this roadworks project amounted to 148 000 €.
