The week is off to a bad start for Biscuiterie Saint-Guénolé in Batz-sur-Mer (Loire-Atlantique). During the night of Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 November 2024, the establishment, located on rue du Croisic and employing 19 employees, was robbed. Main damage: the delivery van.
We discovered everything this Monday morning. The biscuit factory is closed on Sundays. On the video, we see a single person moving around inside the premises… There may have been someone outside but we did not see them.
An appeal to the population
The 2015 Mercedes Sprinter is adorned with the company's logo and name and is therefore very recognizable.
This is why management published the photo of the vehicle on social networks and launched an appeal to the population.
Beforehand, Christophe Jadeau went to file a complaint with the Croisic gendarmerie who made the first findings.
Theft of two boxes of biscuits
Besides the truck, the individual took with him two boxes of biscuits and a small box containing yellow coins. All for a very meager haul, “around fifty euros” estimates the owner of the biscuit factory.
He wanted to leave with our little Dacia but the battery was dead and he took the truck. No doubt to be able to leave again… While waiting to find him, we can travel to our customers and our other manufacturing premises in Leniphen, with this smaller car, which requires us to make more trips back and forth.
Attempted theft at Leniphen
The biscuit factory has experienced 6 or 7 burglaries in the past, but this is the first time his vehicle has been stolen.
The same night, its premises in the artisanal zone of Léniphen in Guérande were broken into but nothing was stolen.
Other neighboring businesses were also visited.
