Is your town sporty? One month from Paris Olympic Gamesthe website villedereve.fr has established a ranking of the most sporty cities in France. In the Hauts-de-Francethe Pas-de-Calais shines with Arras and Calais on the podium. Details.

To develop this detailed classification, those responsible for the website relied on 10 different criteria such as the rate of the licensed population of a sports federation, the sports facilities in the municipality, the sports associations or even the number of sports federations present via at least one club in the city.

The top 3 in Hauts-de-France:

  1. Arras is 1st with a score of 81/100 (116th nationally),

  2. Beauvais is 2nd with a score of 81/100 (117th nationally),

  3. Calais is 3rd with a score of 78/100 (164th nationally).

But what is the reason for Arras’ good ranking? In total, 77 sports facilities are built in the city, 73% of sports facilities are present in the municipality and 43 federations are also present there.

At the national level, Aix-en-Provence is the best ranked large city, with a sports score of 92/100, followed by Besançon and Saint-Denis (in Reunion).
