Bar-le-Duc is launching an attractive initiative for young people. The Meuse town is offering free BAFA training in 2025. An opportunity that could well inspire neighboring Haut-Marne communities.
The Meuse prefecture is making a strong gesture towards its youth. Bar-le-Duc announces the complete training support to the Certificate of Aptitude for Facilitator Functions (BAFA) for 20 young Barisians in 2025.
Complete and free training
The device, of a average value of 800€, includes the three regulatory stages of the BAFA. The general training session will be held from April 6 to 13, 2025, followed by a practical course, and will end with an in-depth session from August 25 to 30. “This is a unique opportunity for our young people to train for free in a profession of the future.“, underlines Martine Joly, mayor of Bar-le-Duc.
A springboard to employment
This initiative not only provides training, it also opens the doors to employment. In return for this free training, participants commit to working in the leisure centers of Bar-le-Duc or surrounding areas. “It's win-win“, explains Jean Dupont, director of the youth service. “Young people gain valuable experience and our structures benefit from trained and motivated leaders.“
Transferable skills
Beyond animation, BAFA develops skills valued by employers. Group management, creativity, sense of responsibility: so many assets which will enhance the CV of the participants. “These young people will be better equipped to enter the world of work, whatever their professional project.“, assures Marie Martin, guidance counselor.
An inspiring model for Haute-Marne?
This Barisian initiative could be emulated. In Saint-Dizier, it is observed with interest. The young people of Haut-Marne do not hide their enthusiasm. “I hope my city offers the same thing soon“. In the meantime, young people from Haut-Marne interested in animation can always contact the BAFA training organizations in their department.
