Nantes

CuCO & CO

Artist based in Marseille, Caroline Mesquita is invited by Voyage à Nantes to the HAB gallery. Each exhibition is an opportunity for her to exploit the space and create a new situation. She deploys here, around an architectural installation, “a metal landscape composed of many surprise metallic hybrids“, made of brass, copper, stainless steel or steel.

Treasures of biodiversity

Before closing for work, the Museum reveals its treasures and in particular the nuggets hidden in its reserves – never seen, not seen for a long time or recently acquired. The exhibition thus demonstrates the evolution of biodiversity over time. Also to be seen at the Museum, the dreams of butterflies between art and science by Fabrice Azzolin.

Put on a good face(s) + Behind the door

The patio and chapel of the Museum of Arts house a major personal exhibition by Nantes video artist Pierrick Sorin. A new installation in the form of a triptych sits alongside older works, where Nantes figures prominently. Humor and self-deprecation compete with the incredible inventiveness of the artist, who also opens his studio at 25, rue Fouré, to the public. He presents prototypes of works there.

Intoxication of ink

Calligrapher as much inspired by Western painting as the art of the Far East, the visual artist Lassaâd Metouui transcends cultures. He presented his new research at the castle, where he developed his “plant alphabet”. A hundred new works from which the rounded shape emerges, through the supports or materials used.
