The 2nd edition of the Orange Cup, an educational and sporting event for licensees of the Mahoraise Football League aged 9 and 10, took place from August 30 to November 17, 2024.
Of the 98 teams registered at the start of the competition, only 16 teams, including 2 100% female teams, qualified for the final phase on November 17 in Mtsahara, in particular thanks to points won during digital workshops. This Sunday therefore allowed the winners to win: the FC Majicavo team came in first, followed by US KAVANI, with RC EF LE DAKA coming in 3rd.
For this second edition, thanks to the partnership with the Air Austral company, the winners received an unprecedented prize: an exceptional trip to mainland France to attend a match of the French team in March 2025. On this occasion, the children will be able to meet football professionals and live an extraordinary sporting experience!
The Mahoraise Football League and Orange worked together to organize this competition, to support amateur football clubs, but also to raise awareness among as many children as possible. Indeed, through the Orange Cup, clubs must carry out the digital workshops of the Federal Educational Program.
For this second edition in Mayotte, more than 600 children were able to benefit from these workshops. More specifically, during this final, as part of the #ForGoodConnections initiative for the protection of children online, 224 children were questioned about cyber harassment by the Orange digital center teams.
Finally, Orange would like to recall the existence of the single national number for reporting situations of harassment and cyberharassment between students: 3018. A number which was highlighted during the final workshops.
