The Loire-Atlantique prefecture announced more than 650 interventions by firefighters after the heavy rains that occurred last week, Wednesday June 19 and Thursday June 20. The bad weather had notably caused flooding in the Nantes metropolis. The water then affected professionals and individuals alike, all surprised by the suddenness and violence of the downpours.

A week later, the city of Nantes invites its residents to declare their claims on its platform: maisontranquillite.nantes.fr. Once recorded, these declarations will allow the City to request recognition of the state of natural disaster. If this is granted by interministerial decree, damage usually not insured may be covered by insurance.
