FC Nantes: Kita turns him upside down, he swings!

Waldemar Kita was exposed in the press this weekend… The president of FC Nantes mismanaged a file from the last winter transfer window and the player in question took advantage of an interview to settle scores.

The information circulated last January. Until now, it was only a rumor and could easily have remained so, like many in this “fluttering” transfer market. But a track from FC Nantes decided to speak. A communications campaign to improve its image and respond after long months of silence. This player is Layvin Kurzawa, whose contract with PSG ends at the end of the month.

“I didn’t like it”

In an interview with the newspaper L’Équipe, Layvin Kurzawa officially confirmed contacts with FC Nantes last winter. Very close to strengthening the Canaries squad, the French international recounts how he was left behind by Waldemar Kita’s teams: “I said (to Moussa Sissoko, who contacted him): ‘No problem, let them call me’. I explain to them that I would go there with great pleasure for six months. In Nantes, they were super surprised. I only wanted one thing, to play football again (…) I put the two clubs in touch, I had prepared my suitcase, but I didn’t hear from them until 10 p.m. And Nantes tells me that they ultimately preferred to buy a player, although that was not the case (Nicolas Cozza was loaned without an option to buy by Wolfsburg). I didn’t appreciate it. To think that they contacted me again recently…”

One less track…

The name of Layvin Kurzawa actually came up a few days ago for FC Nantes. For now, Antoine Kombouaré can cross this name off his list given the player’s comments and the accompanying resentment… Obviously, the track of Betis Sevilla tempts him. Kurzawa has visited the city and admits to being very interested.
