One year after the great mobilization of farmers, act 2 begins this Monday, November 18. In Moselle, like in the whole countryYoung Farmers (JA) and FNSEA will light “fires of anger” at 7:45 p.m.that is to say campfires on a fifteen roundabouts or motorway entrances. The two unions are responding to the national call of their unions which are mobilizing throughout France. They demand the government's refusal to sign the Mercosur free trade agreement which could be signed at the start of the week, a decent income for farmers and a relaxation of bureaucracy. If Prime Minister Michel Barnier assured Friday that all promises would be kepta year after their great mobilization, farmers are losing patience.
15 blocking points are reported by the JA, notably near Metz, Thionville, Cattenom, Sarrebourg, Solgne and Farébersviller. Breeder in Léning, Marc Bodo, the president of JA57 warns: “We are going to block access to the A4 motorway near Farébersviller”. Several other places will be affected by blockages,”but the idea is not to annoy motorists, specifies Marc Bodo, rather to strike a blow to challenge the government again.”
“If nothing changes, we will be able to go much further”
“We tried to talk to him, they kept us waiting for months, then it dissolved. We were told that the machine was back in motion with the new government, but we have been waiting for years. We have to find a way to make ourselves heard. If nothing changes, we will see what proportion and content the next mobilizations will take, but if necessary, we will be able to go much further.“, warns the president of JA57.
