IThere will be no clear cut: tabled this Thursday in parliament, the 2025 draft budget for culture (excluding audiovisual and media) is up 2%, bringing it from 355.3 to 362.6 million euros. Simple mechanical effect of indexing? Not at all: the trajectory set by the Minister of Budget and Culture, Elisabeth Degryse (Les Engagés), is both more austere and broader, because each of the budget articles has visibly been re-examined.
