Dordogne firefighters rescue paraglider stuck in tree five meters high

The 65-year-old Montignacois undoubtedly had the fright of his life this Sunday noon. He had just set off from the magnificent Côte de Jor, which overlooks the Vézère on the heights of Plazac with his paraglider. The previously weak wind picked up suddenly, and on his third turn, he fell steeply onto some trees.

The paraglider found himself stuck in his sail five meters high. The branches threatened to break, and at this point, the slope is very steep and covered with thick brush, almost inaccessible for rescue.

He manages to reach his cell phone

The man managed to reach his cell phone to call his friend, who was preparing to take his turn paragliding a few hundred meters higher. He notified the emergency services. THE firefighters specializing in dangerous environments (SMPM) arrived on site to lower it safely.

The sixty-year-old, sporty and experienced, escapes unscathed, except for a torn nail. Firefighters brought an ambulance to the scene, but they did not need to take him to the hospital. In total, around ten firefighters were mobilized.
