Last October, more than 11,000 Gard secondary school students took part in the elections for the second term of the Departmental Youth Council. With a participation rate of 50%, these elections took place in 73% of public colleges.
251 candidates, i.e. 134 girls and 117 boys, 11,006 voters, i.e. on average one in two middle school students. 73% of colleges organized a vote and 110 young people were elected, i.e. 53 girls and 57 boys (one more deputy to come).
The 46 cantons are all fairly represented as are all of the public colleges in Gard. The Assembly of Councilors of the CDJ is equal with 23 Councilors and 23 Women Councilors. Added to this are 12 delegates, 26 assistants and 26 assistants. The body is made up of 58 elected officials from 5th grade and 52 elected officials from 4th grade.
