Khadija Mahecor Diouf, member of the Pastef party and mayor of -Sud, went to her polling station this morning to fulfill her civic duty. She took the opportunity to call on citizens to go massively to the polls, in calm and peace, to elect the deputies who will represent them in the National Assembly for this 15th legislature, which she considers to be a crucial issue for the future of Senegal.

“I am very honored to have immediately fulfilled my civic duty for these early legislative elections,” rejoiced Khadija Mahecor Diouf.

She also underlined the importance of these legislative elections, which, according to her, must challenge all Senegalese citizens. “The National Assembly is being renewed, and the deputies are responsible for representing the populations. These elections have a crucial stake for the future of Senegal,” she explained.

However, a low number of voters was noted in the polling stations, which pushed her to renew her call for mobilization. “We have noticed that there is not yet a large turnout, because the Senegalese are used to voting at the end of the day. But we are appealing to all Senegalese people to come out and vote en masse,” she added.

Khadija Mahecor Diouf also insisted on the need to maintain an atmosphere of serenity and peace throughout the day. “We appeal for this atmosphere of peace and joy, which we have observed from the beginning, to continue. It is essential that this vote takes place without any incident, because the elections are a moment of celebration for Senegalese democracy. Senegal has always shown the whole world that it is a mature people, capable of choosing its leaders with respect and serenity,” concluded the mayor of Golf-Sud.
