It's autumn, the leaves of the trees are adorned with yellow, orange, red… To take advantage of it, before they completely fall, head to the Cerisy forest, between Manche and Calvados.
Countless walking trails
You don’t know the Cerisy forest well, located about 15 minutes from Saint-Lô?
No problem: simply push the beautiful wooden building from the Forest house, at the Junction, in Montfiquet, to pick up a carte loops, trails and forest roads in this superb national forest of more than 2,200 hectares, real green lung suitable for family walks.
Three marked trails, of 2, 4 and 6 km, will allow you to enjoy it in complete safety. At the Maison de la forêt, the site has a picnic area. Avoid walking there on Thursdays, from October to February: hunts are organized there. Good to know: mushroom picking is prohibited on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The time is ideal to go for a walk: the ground is still relatively dry and the beautiful autumn colors of the leaves are a feast for the eyes.
To visit: the abbey and the sculpture park
Want to extend your outing? Take a detour to the superb Cerisy-la-Forêt abbey: the beauty of the building is enhanced by the flamboyance of autumn.
A tour of the small pond located below will give you a superb view of the building. The opportunity to take beautiful photos.
Right in front of the pond, take a little time to discover the surprising creations of the sculpture park.
