The owner of a restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux “is holed up” in his establishment this Saturday, November 16 at midday. He is holding at least four people.
A hostage-taking is underway in a restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux this Saturday, November 16, AFP learned from firefighters, information confirmed by BFMTV.
The owner of the establishment “is holed up there” and he “detains a few employees”, the Paris fire brigade (BSPP), which dispatched three engines to the site, told AFP. At least four people are in fact detained according to police sources at BFMTV. The motivations of the perpetrator and whether he is armed are currently unknown.

A large police force surrounds the restaurant “L'Olivier” a few dozen meters from the Paris ring road.
Dispatched at midday, numerous police vehicles and security forces, helmeted and armed, block the streets to establish a security perimeter in the neighborhood. The search and intervention brigade (BRI) is present on the scene, several witnesses noted.
The police headquarters confirmed that an operation was underway on rue Ernest Renan, which was closed to traffic.
