Discontent is brewing among the farmers of Côte-d'Or and the country, who denounce broken government promises and burdensome overadministration.
In response, and as a sign of protest, the organizers initially chose not to use agricultural equipment. For this “first act”, a “Fire of Wrath” will be held this Monday, November 18 from 6:30 p.m., very close to the Dijon ring road, in the Olympic swimming pool parking lot. This peaceful gathering will not cause any disruption to road traffic.
Other actions to follow
The “Fire of Wrath” is only the first act of a broader mobilization. From November 25, union actions will be organized to denounce overadministration and excess standards. Then, from December 9, price-driven actions and the income will complement this protest movement.
Côte-d'Or farmers hope draw attention to their plight and obtain concrete responses to their demands. By this fire which will be visible from any location in Dijon and from the Rocade, the farmers of Côte-d'Or are calling for collective awareness.
