Nearly 550 middle school students from the department participated this Thursday, November 14, in a conference on the dangers of drugs led by a panel of specialists.
They arrived from Saint-Affrique, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Capdenac, Onet-le-Château or Sévérac-d'Aveyron, Saint-Amans-des-Côts or Rignac: 550 4th and 3rd year school students took possession this Thursday , in the Athyrium room, in Onet, to participate in a conference on the dangers of narcotics. And, comically, it was the money seized from drug traffickers that made it possible to finance their bus transport. A total cost of more than 4,600 euros, a sum reinvested for a good cause.
Around the public prosecutor Nicolas Rigot-Muller, the president of the Court Mélanie Cabal, the head of the Rodez adolescent center, the Addictions France association, a doctor and a lawyer, the college students, two hours, were made aware of the dangers of narcotics.
“The idea was to have a dual discourse between what exists in terms of prevention or care, but also in terms of criminal risk, the link between narcotics and the commission of an offense, penalties incurred,” summarizes the public prosecutor.
The students were also able to hear the testimony of a former drug user. “If some people were able to learn things, gain new insight, it will be an afternoon won,” concludes Nicolas Rigot-Muller.
