A gesture of solidarity and good for the environment
Donations can be dropped off at one of the many collection points set up, with 42 locations in Gard and 5 in Vaucluse. Accepted toys include a wide range of materials such as plastic, textile and paper, without state restrictionsas long as they are able to benefit from a second life. “ Even an incomplete toy is welcome, because associations can complete it, » specifies Mathieu Goutti, head of the toy sector at Ecomaison.
The toys collected will then be redistributed to local associations. In the Gard, at Secours populaire, Emmaüs, or even at Humanîmes, and the Secours populaire de Lauris in Vaucluse, the objective being that these goods can benefit children before the end-of-year holidays. « The month of November is crucial so that these associations can sort and prepare toys for Christmas, » he adds. Since the launch of this operation, more than 300 tons of toys were diverted from trash.
Accessible and varied collection points
To locate collection points, you can consult the site ceciparlertoncoeur.org, which lists locations by department. Among the collection points, we find recycling centers, town halls and childcare centers, thus facilitating access to this solidarity approach.
Even if the operation is national in scope, certain departments are not yet affected by this operation. Ecomaison encourages all interested communities to contact them to integrate their areas into this initiativethus expanding the solidarity network.
