Sweaters, hats and scarves will be required in the eastern part of the country this Saturday, November 16, 2024. The day there promises to be the coldest of the week and should give an overview of what to expect at the start of the week next.

Indeed, from Monday unsettled weather is expected, with frequent and marked precipitation, but also the return of snow in the mountains at low altitude and a much windier atmosphere. The mercury will continue to drop and take on a more wintry character.

This Saturday, in the early morning Météo- forecasts temperatures between 2 and 7 degrees from and the " rel="tag">Pays de la Loire to the Belgian border as well as from the south of Aquitaine to the south of PACA and Corsica , between -2 and + 3 degrees elsewhere.

Like Friday, the weather remains anticyclonic with timid dissipation of clouds between the northern borders and the Loire Valley. The maritime entrances into the Gulf of Lion will gradually move up to the middle Rhône valley.

From the English Channel and the northern borders to the north of the Charentes, Poitou, Centre-Val-de-Loire, the Auvergne valleys, the middle Rhône valley and Burgundy Franche-Comté, this day begins under numerous low clouds sometimes lined with fog, except for the Vosges, Morvan and Jura massifs which are above the cloud layer.

As the morning progresses, the gray weather dissipates in Charentes, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and the south of Burgundy Franche-Comté to make way for the sun.

On the rest of the northern half the gaps are rare.

Softness in Aquitaine

Near the English Channel, the clouds can at times be accompanied by a little drizzle at first, then at the end of the day light rain reaches from the north of Brittany to -Pas-de-.

Near the Gulf of Lion, grayness also sets in. From the morning of Roussillon and Languedoc to the west of PACA, the maritime entries are essential and remain compact until the evening.

Elsewhere the day is sunny. In Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées, the morning fogs dissipate quite quickly and the sun shines brightly, sometimes thwarted by a cloudy veil in the afternoon.

The clearings remain wide on the eastern flank. The south wind over the west of the Pyrenees and the wind from Autan blow moderately.

At the heart of the day, maximum temperatures will not exceed 5 to 11 degrees in the northern half of the country. They will still reach 11 to 16 degrees in the southern half, and up to 18 to 20 degrees in Aquitaine and the west of the Pyrenean foothills, the south of PACA and in Corsica.

On Sunday, more humid air will rush in through the northern borders bringing some light rain to the north-eastern quarter of the country. The imposing cloud cover over the north of France will extend its grip over the southwest. On the other hand, the weather will remain sunny in the south-east of the territory.
