The municipality of Casablanca announced the implementation of an integrated action plan for a clean and lively summer in the metropolis.

Announced as part of the launch of the 2024 summer season, this plan provides for the animation of the city’s main public squares, the maintenance of their cleanliness and the provision of the necessary infrastructure along the city’s beaches, and this in order to satisfy the diverse needs of all age groups, explains a press release from the municipality.

Thus, a varied program of artistic, sporting and leisure activities has been established, adds the same source, noting that from July 1 and throughout the summer period, the beaches of Lalla Meryem and Aïn Diab will be equipped with various recreational and sports facilities, displaying the Casa Plage visual identity, all with the aim of strengthening the tourist attractiveness of the city like large metropolises.

These facilities include spaces for beach sports, stages for free shows, areas for open competitions, and various areas for children.

These beaches are also equipped with deckchairs, parasols, chairs and tables available for rental in areas representing 20% ​​of the accessible sand surface, in accordance with national provisions relating to beach management. 80% of the sand surface is dedicated to free swimming, free of charge.

To this end, the municipality of Casablanca invites summer visitors to contact the authorities and law enforcement agents present on site in the event of a request for fees or an obligation to use the rented equipment.

Furthermore, in partnership with the various stakeholders in the city of Casablanca, a program of cultural and artistic events has been developed, starting next weekend.

This program includes shows and artistic performances on the promenade of the Hassan II Mosque, as well as in public squares such as Mohammed V Square, Rachidi Square, United Nations Square, Arab League Park, of the Vélodrome, the Bechar LKhair square, the square of the old mosque of Aïn Chock, the El Wahda alarabia square, the Anwal square, the Garage Allal square, and the Jnane El Louz Park, in addition to the various local activities organized directly by the sixteen arrondissements.

Also, in order to guarantee the cleanliness of public squares, parks and beaches, the municipality of Casablanca, in collaboration with its partners, has strengthened its cleaning system. This cleanliness program includes several reinforced measures and actions aimed at keeping the city clean during the summer season, marked by an influx of visitors and high mobility of Casablanca residents, both during the day on the beaches and at night in public squares, parks and walks.

The total number of cleaning agents mobilized throughout the municipal territory has been increased to around 6,000 agents, in addition to the installation of trash cans, screeners and equipment for collecting and cleaning waste on the beaches.

The municipality of Casablanca also announced the launch of an awareness program throughout the summer, in partnership with associations and institutions wishing to organize awareness-raising actions on the benefits of cleanliness for the urban environment.
