After more than a month of occupation, the Briançon bowling alley was evacuated this Thursday evening by the police. Around thirty gendarmes and police officers were mobilized on site to dislodge around fifteen squatters according to our colleagues from Dauphiné Libéréwhich report several arrests. As a reminder, the civil judge of Gap had ordered on Wednesday the evacuation of the premises, a private property which belongs to the association l'amicale boule briançonnaise.
After a bailiff noted that the building had not been evacuated around 4 p.m., the police entered around 6:30 p.m. using their batons and tear gas. Around 7 p.m., the entrances to the bowling alley were blocked off by city teams. The town hall points out squatters “ultra-left“who took over”classic slogans: down with the bourgeoisie, the police state, the murderous state and fire at the borders“This is the second time in a year that an evacuation of this type has been carried out in the Vauban city, after the evacuation of Jeunes Pousses in December 2023.
