Haute-: Syded wants to reduce plants in recycling centers

Every year, plant management and treatment costs 1.7 million euros to Syded, which manages 25 recycling centers in Haute-. In order to save money, it was decided to limit the addition of plants to ten passages within the limit of 5m3/household/year.

This measure is far from unanimous in Magnac- where visitors are divided: “Ten passages… to see“, “It’s a little light“, “We make a lot more than ten passes if we trim the hedges.“According to Syded, visitors deposit on average 2.5 m3/household/year of plants.

A financial and ecological cost

Why do we limit green waste so much?” asks a resident of Magnac-Laval. Grégory Dubouchaud, coordinator of the Syded outreach unit, is visiting the recycling centers until the end of the year to raise awareness of this new regulation. “These are savings for the community and for users. The volume is always greater to process. So it has a financial and ecological cost.” This is why, in line with this measure, Syded offers free composterstraining and financial aid to rent or buy a crusher.

For example, a full bag is counted as 0.2 m3, a full van as 3 m3 and a full van as 5 m3.
