For a reason that the gendarmerie investigation will have to shed light on, a heavy goods vehicle – with a young man aged 26 at the wheel – and a car, with a woman aged 42 on board, collided at the level of the intersection of the Solférino church, around 6:20 p.m. A “lateral frontal” shock, according to the emergency services. The truck ended up in the ditch on the left side and the car on the opposite side, on the right.

The two people incarcerated

When they arrived on the scene, the Landes firefighters found the two occupants incarcerated. After long minutes of effort, the two victims were taken out of their respective cabins consciously. They were taken care of by emergency services, in particular emergency doctors.

A first medical assessment was carried out on the scene. Deemed an absolute emergency, the 42-year-old driver was transported to the hospital center. At the same time, the other victim – also in absolute emergency – was directed by the firefighters to the Layné hospital in Mont-de-Marsan.

Gendarmes from the Parentis-en-Born company were dispatched to the scene. First, they regulated traffic before this axis was completely cut off. Then they carried out the usual observations.

18 firefighters and 7 engines were mobilized on site.

The Morcenx roads department has closed this axis between Solférino and Morcenx. The diversion route has been set up in both directions of traffic: the RD 402 to Labouheyre, then the RD 626 via Commensacq and the RD 834 to Sabres.
