Two young women were referred to the Saint-Denis court (Reunion) on Wednesday November 13, 2024. A judicial investigation should be opened and the two suspects could be placed in pre-trial detention. They are suspected of having tried to bring drugs into the territory, explains Meeting The First .
A customs check
It all started at Roland-Garros airport in Saint-Denis, where the suspects arrived on Sunday November 10, 2024 by a plane from Paris. Their behavior attracted the attention of customs officers who decided to check and search them. The passengers were found to have a large quantity of drugs on them, our colleagues report.
The “mules” are said to have transported 17 kg of cannabis resin as well as 6 kg of cocaine. They were placed in police custody. If the weight of the intercepted substances, whose resale value has been estimated at €900,000, is confirmed, it will be one of the largest drug seizures ever made in Reunion.
