A bomb threat was triggered at the Woillez high school in Montreuil-sur-Mer this Thursday morning and the students were evacuated. In Avion, a false bomb alert, coupled with an intrusion alert was also reported.
The 1,300 students at the Woillez high school in Montreuil-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais) were evacuated this Thursday, November 14, BFM Grand Littoral learned, confirming information from France Bleu Nord.
The evacuation followed a bomb threat and around fifteen firefighters were dispatched to the site.
One person shared a screenshot of a text message sent from the school, which indicates that all students have been moved to safety in Rheinberg Hall. Parents can come and pick up their children.
False intrusion alert on Airplane
In Avion, around 11 a.m. this Thursday morning, an intrusion alert was also triggered. The high school received an anonymous call saying someone had locked themselves in a classroom and taken students hostage. After investigations, the number used was that of a student enrolled in the establishment.
The approximately 600 students present on site were still evacuated by the police. According to the mayor of the town, Jean Létoquart, the “rescue plan worked”.
“The police went around the school four times. The students were evacuated, no bomb. The sniffer dogs will carry out the final removal of doubt,” he told BFM Grand Littoral.
