Seine-et-: in this town, the mail has been arriving a week late for months

In Longperrier (Seine-et-), residents have deplored numerous delays in the delivery of their mail since last June, reports “La Marne”. Letters and parcels would only be distributed once a week, due to understaffing at La Poste in Dammartin-en-Goële.

Since June, mail has been delivered only once a week in the town of Longperrier (Seine-et-Marne). Residents deplore delivery deadlines that are not met. One of them mentions to The Marne letters which arrive “often a week late” or even registered letters “deposited without signature while we are present”.

A petition launched

Parcels are subject to the same delays. Some local residents are even invited to collect their mail directly from La Poste in Dammartin-en-Goële, in charge of distribution in the area. Longperrier town hall notified La Poste in September but nothing changed. An online petition calling for an “end to delays and tracking issues” has since been launched by a resident.

Asked by Lto MarneLa Poste has assured that “the rounds of the postmen at the Dammartin-en-Goële postal site are adapted to changes in activities”. Understaffing would have caused delays but the situation would have “stabilized” in recent weeks, she said.
