An increase of 10% between 2022 and 2023. In a report from Ministry of the Interior, numerous statistics concerning domestic violence have been revealed. “In France in 2023, the security services recorded 271,000 victims of violence committed by their partner or ex-partner, an increase of 10% compared to 2022, close to the average annual rate of change observed since 2019 (i.e. 13%) “, we can read there.
This increase is particularly linked to movements for freedom of speech. “In a context of freedom of speech and improvement in the reception conditions for victims by the police and gendarmerie services, the number of registered victims has thus doubled since 2016. The proportion of victims reporting events prior to their year of registration remains stable compared to 2022 (14%). »
