For many in the Gers (but also in the surrounding departments), it is the party the most important of the year. It's not Christmas, nor a simple musical festival either. This is the Pentecôtavic. The next edition will take place from June 6 to 9, 2025. And his theme has just been revealed.

A theme which will undoubtedly be less controversial than in 2024. This feria had seen vintages without wave, from “Vic sur Mars” to Flower Power via “Fééries à Vic” and “Vic chic”. But in November 2023, the organizers made a choice which was appreciated differently by the elected officials of the department. As the Olympic flame did not pass through Vic-Fezensac (unlike Auch, Mirande or Fleurance), the slogan “Vic without flame” was chosen.

After the controversy

However, the controversy did not prevent 42,000 festivalgoers from having an excellent time there. Especially with the famous sailor top on the back. A sailor who had been at the center of a world record. 1,016 festayres were counted in 10 minutes in front of the town hall of Vic-Fezensac with the striped outfit. A figure swept away immediately by Honfleur. But no matter, this novelty had delighted everyone.

It is not said that a new attempt will not be on the agenda during the Pentecost celebrations of 2025, but the time has not yet come to announce the complete program. On the other hand, we know the theme. It will be “Vic en Piste”: Pentecôtavic is doing his circus!

It's promising in terms of disguises

“The circus, an emblematic discipline of the performing arts, will therefore be in the spotlight this year at Vic-Fezensac with a program that will highlight the fascinating world of the performing arts,” assure the organizers.

“We chose this theme because the circus is an art that speaks to everyone, young and old alike, and which promises great moments and great disguises! We hope that our activities around the circus can surprise and inspire the festivalgoers. Our musical programming, still a little secret, has progressed well. We work on varied stages accessible to all audiences,” explains Pascal Lamothe, president of the Pentecôtavic association.

The detailed program, as well as information on the invited artists, will only be revealed in the coming weeks by the organization… which has changed a little.

A single president at the head of the organization

Fabrice Laffargue has in fact left the office and the co-presidency to leave the reins to the sole Pascal Lamotheco-president for three years. Anne Landie-Taviani was elected vice-president.

Finally, beyond the number of participants last year, on the financial side, the event displays a deficit of more than €7,000. But the association believes that this remains a “satisfactory and rational assessment in view of current economic constraints”.
