According to The Dauphiné Libéréa former president of a masonry company in Isère is at the heart of a case of hidden work. The facts date back to July 2018, when an Urssaf accounting audit highlighted serious irregularities within the company LC Maçonnerie, active in the construction of villas and originally located in , then in Pierre- Bénite in the Rhône.

The manager, aged 35, was sentenced to eight months in prison and banned from managing any company for five years. A subsequent hearing, set for May 2025, will determine the exact amount to be reimbursed, currently estimated at 915,503 euros.

Years of investigation revealing a hidden work system

The initial check revealed that the company was not keeping any accounts, despite numerous projects in progress. This situation triggered a criminal investigation for hidden work, carried out by Urssaf and the judicial authorities, over several years. Investigations revealed payments made in the form of transfers and checks to workers, without any declaration to social services.

Inspectors found that the salaries paid were not recorded. The defendant, now an employee with no assets, has seen his financial situation deteriorate to the point of having to file an over-indebtedness file.
